Altura Elementary Clothing Guidelines: 2025-26
At Altura Elementary, we believe that every student deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and included at school. While we do not require uniforms, we do ask that all students dress in a way that promotes a positive, safe, and distraction-free learning environment. Our clothing guidelines are rooted in respect—for self, for others, and for the purpose of school. We appreciate your partnership in helping students arrive each day ready to learn and engage fully.
Tops:
- T-shirts with school-appropriate graphics, logos, or messages are welcome.
- Tops should provide full coverage and remain below the waistband, even when arms are raised.
Bottoms:
- Students may wear leggings, jeggings, sweatpants, athletic pants, jeans, shorts, skirts, skorts, and yoga pants.
- Skirts, skorts, and shorts should allow for movement and activity without exposing undergarments.
- Sagging pants or excessively loose clothing are not allowed for safety reasons.
Footwear:
- Footwear should be safe and functional, especially on P.E. days or when participating in sports or clubs.
- Flip flops or open-toed shoes are discouraged due to tripping hazards during active play.
Spirit Days & Celebrations
- Occasionally, students will be invited to participate in themed dress days or school spirit celebrations. Guidance for these days will be shared in advance.
